Thermage Treatments

The Thermage procedure is available only in the offices of qualified physicians who specialize in cosmetic procedures. The procedure itself is normally done as a single treatment that takes from 20 minutes to two hours depending on the treatment area. What's more, there is no downtime - so you can quickly resume your normal routine.

Unlike some lasers, Thermage works on all skin types and tones. And unlike injections or fillers, Thermage works on your entire face - forehead, eyes, nasolabial folds, jaw line, jowls and the area under your chin.

If you no longer recognize the face looking back at you in the mirror, it's time to talk to certified Thermage physician Dr. Carter and learn how Thermage can help you look as young as you feel.

Take a quick look at how Thermage compares to other treatment options. Thermage is the only one that rejuvenates the collagen deep in your skin, with none of the negative aspects of other treatments.

An Exciting Addition - Latisse

There’s been a growing interest in this product ever since it was introduced. And it’s no wonder. LATISSE® is the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment for inadequate or not enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker.

Discover the LATISSE® difference.

LATISSE® solution is an actual growth treatment. In fact, it’s the only FDA-approved treatment clinically proven to grow lashes. And it’s the only lash growth product of its kind available by prescription. So you’ll need to talk to your doctor to see if it’s right for you.

LATISSE® grows lashes longer, fuller and darker. The solution is a once-a-day treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes, as instructed by your doctor. Then, gradually, the results come in. You may start to see more length in as little as 4 weeks and you should achieve full growth in 16 weeks. It’s not an illusion of growth. It’s your own eyelashes — only better.

How LATISSE® works.

LATISSE® makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is unknown, LATISSE® is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase, and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase.

The history behind LATISSE®.

Although LATISSE® is a treatment for inadequate or not enough eyelashes, it was developed through years of research by Allergan, a pharmaceutical leader with expertise in eye care products.

Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation

What is MCA?

M.C.A. (Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation) is a non-surgical and entirely natural way of getting the body's own cells to regenerate and minimize wrinkles. This process can be used to relax constricted scars, plump the "valley" of wrinkles (causing them to fill in), and "white scars" can often be re-pigmented to better match the surrounding skin tones.

Performed correctly, MCA can even plump lip tissue and alleviate small unsightly wrinkles around the lip area. MCA is practically painless, completely risk- free and is a great alternative to injectable fillers such as Collagen injections and muscle relaxants such as Botox. The results of MCA are much longer-lasting and more affordable. Usually, only gifted and experienced individuals practicing MCA can achieve the best results.

Laser Spider Vein Removal

How does laser spider vein removal work?
Cosmetic Laser Studio's Fotona Nd:Yag laser has a wavelength of 1064 nanometers. This wavelength targets hemoglobin or blood. Each vessel is traced with pulses of laser light. As the energy is absorbed by the blood in the vessel, heat is created and the vessel wall is destroyed. The vein will die and the body will clear away the tissue as it would clear away a bruise. Treatments with Cosmetic Laser Studio's Fontona Nd:Yag laser require no anesthetics and no downtime, with very low risk of side effects. People with all skin colors can be safely treated.

How long will it take for my veins to disappear?
Each client's body will have its own time schedule for how quickly veins will be reabsorbed. This could range from days to weeks and possibly months.

Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing

Erbium Laser skin resurfacing is a procedure designed to remove superficial and moderately deep lines and wrinkles on the face.

What Conditions can Laser Resurfacing Treat?
Laser resurfacing is performed in our office to help:
· Erase fine lines and wrinkles of the face
·
Smooth and tighten eyelid skin
·
Improve the appearance of crow's feet around the eyes
·
Soften pucker marks and frown lines
·
Remove brown spots and splotchy, uneven skin color
·
Repair smoker's lines
· Improve skin tone and texture

The Erbium laser produces less heating or burning of surrounding tissues than other lasers used for resurfacing. This allows Dr. Carter and her staff to gently and comfortably vaporize the damaged skin cells layer by layer. Most cases require only a local or topical anesthetic. Recent studies have shown that the Erbium laser stimulates the production of collagen, creating a tightening and smoothing of the skin. The Erbium laser is the latest advance fro the treatment of aging and sun-damaged skin. The Erbium laser provides a safer, more accurate and less painful method of restoring a softer, smoother, more youthful-appearing skin. Patients can have their procedure performed in the doctor's office and be home that same day.
Skin resurfacing with the cool light of the Erbium laser results in less post-operative redness, less swelling and provides a more rapid healing than with other laser skin resurfacing methods. In most cases, patients are fully recovered and back to normal activities within 7-10 days.

Following the procedure, the treated areas are kept moist with an ointment and/or occlusive dressings for the first few days. Post-operatively, there is a period of healing which is generally completed within 5-7 days. Sunscreen should be applied when in the sun. Over the next few weeks, your fresh, new, pink skin will fade to a normal tone revealing a softer, smoother, younger look.

Laser/VPL Hair Reduction

Is it painful?
In general, hair removal feels like a rubber band popping the skin. Some areas are more sensitive than others. We can always apply a topical anesthetic if needed.

How long will the treatment take?
The amount of time needed to complete a treatment depends on how large an area we are working with. An upper lip may be only 5 minutes, while an entire back may take several hours.

How many treatments will I need?
Lasers can only kill a follicle that is in the active growth phase. This means that we have to catch each follicle at the proper time, which in turn means that more than one treatment is involved. You should plan on anywhere from six to nine treatments at least 5-6 weeks apart.

Should I shave before my treatment?
Yes, either the night before or the morning of your procedure. Can I continue to tan after a laser treatment? It is best to avoid tanning while undergoing laser treatments. Tanning increases the chance of the development of hyperpigmentation (brown spots).

Can I pluck or wax the area while receiving treatments?
No. Any damage to the hair follicle disrupts the natural growth cycle of the hair. This would increase the number of treatments needed.

Can I apply makeup after a treatment?
Yes.

What is the possibility of burning or scarring?
Minimal. We treat at the lowest effective settings. When will I see a difference in my hair growth? Six to eight weeks after the 3rd treatment.

Are there any hair colors that laser hair reduction cannot treat?
Yes. In general, blonde, strawberry blond, and gray hair is not responsive to laser hair reduction.

Are there any medicines that I should avoid while undergoing treatments?
Yes. Any medication that lists light sensitivity as a potential side effect.

What is the difference between electrolysis and laser hair reduction?
Electrolysis involves placing a small needle into each individual hair follicle and applying an electric current to kill the follicle. Laser requires no needles and can treat a large area at one time.
